I am deeply grateful that I discovered my love for photography in 2016. Since then, photography has changed the way I see the world—quietly, profoundly, and in the most meaningful way.
It has taught me to be more present. To notice light, silence, movement, emotion, and all those fleeting moments that often pass unnoticed.
I grew up in Wetzlar—a city where cameras are more than tools; they are part of its history and identity. Today, I photograph with cameras that are still built there. It feels less like a choice and more like coming full circle.
Photography has also taught me something beyond the camera. In life, I try to avoid black-and-white thinking. The world is far too nuanced, too complex, and too beautiful for simple answers.
Yet behind the viewfinder, I am drawn into another world. Black-and-white photography strips away distraction and leaves only what truly matters: Light, shadow, form, emotion, and time. It allows me to see the familiar in a different way—and, perhaps, a little more truthfully.
Every moment is unique. Photography allows us to preserve these moments—not to hold on to them, but to remember how they felt.
I don’t simply take photographs.
I create memories—in black and white.
